NH12157 Japanese Cha-dansu (tea-chest) crafted of a Chestnut casing with a Rosewood veneer and Paulownia drawers, simple copper hardware with bale shaped handles, multiple small drawer and door configuration, with two sliding doors on top with inset panels covered in a gold cloth paper, beneath the open shelves a hinged double door compartment with gold lacquer decoration of bamboo leaves on the rosewood inset panels. Minor signs of age and wear otherwise fine condition. Measuring: 28-1/2” high x 24-1/4” wide x 10-3/4” deep. Taisho period, Circa 1920.
