EH50032 An unusual Chinese Zhejiang celadon water dropper from the Longquan kilns, the form of a peaked sphere possibly inspired by the 12th century Korean Peach form, or bamboo shoot or lotus bud with loop handle and elongated spout, a few incised concentric bands around the body and the control hole at one side near the top, covered in a fine random crackled celadon glaze of medium tone. The base remains unglazed revealing the beige/brown biscuit footed and peaked on center. Hairline crack about the spout, a possible repair, otherwise fine condition. 3-1/4" High x 2-1/2" in Diameter. Ming Dynasty 14th/15th century. $1,200.
